Put simply, we provide structure resource and process to re empower doctors working in any setting, and enable them to manage their professional lives and meet their regulatory and compliance requirements.
For Independent Doctors
Often working in poorly resourced professional environments we aim to redress the balance between the imposing burden of regulation and the time and resource poor medical professional.
We provide an independent governance structure and a total support service for the independent doctor.
Moreover we offer continuity of relationship, independent of geographic location and spanning all work contexts throughout your career
For Healthcare Provider Organisations
Organisations employing or contracting with doctors that are “designated organisations” are now by law either required or allowed to appoint a responsible officer
For agency organisations the Medical Support Union offers a fully outsourced and risk managed service to ensure that they can meet legislative obligations without risk to, or distraction from their core business.
For employing organisations we can provide support that ensures your doctors are on track and provide tangibly perceived employee benefit. Contact us to find out more about how our services can benefit your organisation.
For Employed Doctors
At present the algorithm provided by the Department of Health/GMC suggests that employed doctors have no choice over which responsible officer their appraiser can relate to. Your responsible officer is the officer appointed by your employer or the employer in which the majority of your work is carried out.
However we can still help employed doctors in the NHS or other employing Organisations track and deal with all their professional administration tasks in a timely fashion, and manage their personal portfolios. Many of the elements of our Independent appraisal and revalidation service can be utilised to stay on top of preparation for your NHS Apraisal/Revalidation
Outside of the appraisal meeting and responsible officer function most our full range of member services can still be accessed by employed doctors.
Our systems and services can relieve you of unnecessary stress and help you focus on your busy NHS career.
